If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends elegant indoor spaces with sweeping outdoor views, a St. Johns Golf & Country Club wedding is one of those venues that gives you the best of both worlds. It is one of the most versatile St. Augustine wedding venues for couples who want both indoor and outdoor options.
St. Johns Golf & Country Club is conveniently located right off of State Road 210 and minutes from I-95. The address is: 205 St Johns Golf Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32092. You will drive down a tree lined street that makes for a peaceful entry into your wedding day. I can’t wait to tell you all about it while you see Megan and Cortland’s real spring wedding at St. Augustine’s St. Johns Golf & Country Club.

If you’re looking for a wedding venue in St. Augustine that feels polished but still relaxed, St. Johns Golf & Country Club is such a hidden gem. It has that classic golf course backdrop (think wide open greens, water views, and sunset light that just glows), but the flow of the space is what really makes it stand out.

After your guests come through the front of the club, it is set up perfectly for them to wait to enter the ceremony space in the air conditioning or to enjoy the views of the ceremony and beautiful golf course on the patio. You can have the sign-up book there. And, like Megan and Cortland, you can have the sweetest favors to take home for your puppies.

You can have your ceremony outside overlooking the course. Then, you are able to transition seamlessly into cocktail hour on the patio again. The reception is inside the ballroom, your guests will never feel shuffled around. It’s one of those venues that just works, which makes your day feel effortless.

From a wedding day perspective, it’s also incredibly practical in the best way. The indoor reception space has large windows that let in so much natural light (which I love for photos). There’s plenty of room for larger guest counts without it feeling crowded. You can fit about 200-225 guests in the reception space. St. Johns Golf & Country Club in St. Augustine. The also offer in-house catering, which simplifies a lot of the planning process and keeps everything running smoothly.

And for portraits, you don’t have to go far, there are so many beautiful spots right on property, especially during golden hour when the sun drops over the course. It’s the kind of venue where you can have a really elegant, full wedding day experience without the stress of multiple locations or complicated logistics.
As a St. Augustine wedding photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how smoothly a wedding day flows at St. Johns Golf & Country Club. I can definitely understand why it is one of the most sought-after golf course wedding venues in St. Augustine, Florida.

The ceremony space at St. Johns Golf & Country Club is such a beautiful option for couples dreaming of an outdoor wedding in St. Augustine. Set right along the golf course, it gives you those wide, open views with lush greens and a peaceful water backdrop that feels both classic and relaxed.

It’s one of those ceremony locations that doesn’t need a lot of extra décor. The setting really speaks for itself. It is a beautiful blank slate, you can go with the natural beauty or add your own vibe. You know I love florals and Megan’s floral choices were amazing. It really made the view not only beautiful, but reflected the spring vibes that she wanted for her wedding.
And while it feels tucked away and private, at the backside of the clubhouse, it’s still just steps from the reception ballroom, which makes it incredibly convenient for your guests.

What time should you plan your ceremony time at this St. Augustine golf club wedding venue? I always recommend planning your ceremony time with the light in mind. And, from there, you can plan the rest of your wedding day schedule. The space gets beautiful, even lighting earlier in the day and then transitions into that soft, golden glow as the sun starts to lower. It’s such a dreamy spot for saying your vows, and it sets the tone perfectly for the rest of your wedding day.

Megan and Cortland’s wedding ceremony was at 4:30 in April. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny St. Augustine spring day, barely a cloud in the sky. This time of day was perfect for their ceremony. It was pretty sunny as they were processing in, the sun was pretty high in the sky and so it was beaming on their faces. BUT! The light was perfection once they were there! If it were any later, the light behind them would be lower in the sky and not as ideal for pictures.
The sun set that night at about 7:30, so starting the ceremony 2-3 hours before the sunset is ideal at a St. Johns Golf & Country Club wedding.

What do you do if the weather is bad for your outdoor ceremony at St. Johns Golf & Country Club? There is a great option in the ballroom if the Florida weather is not cooperating. The light in the ballroom is beautiful and it can easily be switched from ceremony to reception. There are also alternatives in the dining room and entry way for cocktail hour while the staff will flip the room from ceremony to reception.

The reception space at St. Johns Golf & Country Club is one of my favorite parts of the entire venue, especially for couples planning a St. Augustine golf course wedding who want something that feels both elegant and easy. The ballroom is spacious without feeling overwhelming, which makes it a great fit for both medium and larger guest counts.
One of the biggest things you’ll notice right away is the natural light. There are large windows that overlook the golf course, so even during your reception you still get that soft, outdoor feel. It creates such a pretty, airy atmosphere for dinner, toasts, and all those in-between moments that end up being some of your favorite memories.

From a flow perspective, it’s set up so seamlessly for a St. Johns Golf & Country Club wedding. Guests can move right from cocktail hour on the patio into the reception space without any confusion or downtime. This keeps the energy of the night going. The layout also gives you plenty of flexibility for your dance floor, head table, and guest seating, so it never feels cramped or crowded.
As the sun starts to set over the course, you can easily sneak back outside for a few golden hour portraits without missing much of your reception. It’s one of those spaces that not only photographs beautifully, but also just feels really comfortable and welcoming for everyone there. This makes such a difference on a wedding day.

Florals make all the difference in the world! They give life to a space and to your wedding! Megan and Cortland’s wedding florals were nothing short of amazing!!! They hired St. Augustine and Jacksonville florist Southern Grace Floral Design. Even though St. Johns Golf & Country Club is a beautiful venue, florals make it even MORE beautiful!! 10/10 recommend taking wedding inspiration from this design. Perfection!
Choosing the right wedding vendors is so important. Being able to work as a team is absolutely necessary to bring your perfect day to life. Southern Grace Floral is at the top of my floral vendor list of THE BEST JACKSONVILLE WEDDING VENDORS. If you would like to see the complete list, CLICK HERE.

One of the biggest reasons couples choose St. Johns Golf & Country Club is how naturally beautiful it is for photos without needing to go anywhere else. Everything is right there, open greens, water views, tree-lined paths, and little tucked-away spots that give you so much variety in your gallery.
It’s the kind of place where we can walk just a few minutes and get multiple completely different backdrops. It keeps your day feeling relaxed and not rushed. For a St. Augustine wedding, having all of that in one location is such a win because you’re not losing time traveling for portraits, you’re actually getting to enjoy more of your day.

From a lighting standpoint, it’s just as good. The open golf course means we get that soft, even light earlier in the day. Then the most beautiful golden hour as the sun drops over the course. That’s when everything starts to glow in the prettiest way, and it’s perfect for those quiet, just-married moments together.
And because everything is so close to the reception space, you can step out for a few minutes, get those dreamy sunset portraits, and head right back to your party without missing anything. It’s one of those venues that truly makes the photography side feel effortless. That makes such a difference in how your day feels and how your photos turn out.

At Megan and Cortland’s wedding, we did a lot of their pictures before their ceremony, earlier in the day. On the backside of the country club, where the ceremony is, the light is a little bright. But that’s ok! Because the front of the clubhouse is just as beautiful! We did the first looks and wedding party pictures there and it was perfect! A first look with her dad, before the ceremony, was perfect in the shade of the front porch of the clubhouse.

After the ceremony, when the sun starts to get lower and more glowy, the sun is shining perfectly by the bridge. It is an iconic spot on the golf course. This is one of my favorite spots for St. Johns Golf & Country Club wedding photos, especially during sunset. It is such a fun golf cart ride to newlywed portraits on the St. Johns Golf & Country Club bridge.

We were also able to do sunset pictures on the golf course (remember to take off the heels). As the sun went down behind the trees that border the beautiful green golf course, it made for the best light and the best views! These photos are absolutely epic!
These are some of my favorite St. Johns Golf & Country Club wedding photos, on the golf course, from Megan and Cortland’s day.

Most of my couples have not been married before and they have never planned a wedding. As a St. Augustine wedding photographer, I do have some tips as you plan your wedding at St. Johns Golf & Country Club.

At a St. Johns Golf & Country Club wedding you have the ability to have venue coordination. That is great! But I would hire a wedding designer/planner for YOU for the day. Having someone there that has helped you plan the day and can fully advocate for YOU that day, is very comforting.
Megan and Cortland hired Janae from JO Event Co. as their wedding planner and designer, she was amazing! She kept everything running smoothly and the design of the entire wedding was perfection! If you are in the Jacksonville or St. Augustine area, definitely contact her!
JO Event Co. tops my favorites list in the wedding planner category. Definitely check out the full list HERE.

This is always one of my tips for any wedding! Know when the sunsets. Base your entire wedding on that! This is especially important during the time of the year that the sun will set earlier. You can read more about planning timelines in my Florida winter wedding guide HERE.
For Megan and Cortland’s wedding, it was a spring wedding and the sun was setting later, after 7:30. This is ideal, we had time for pictures after their first look, the pictures after the ceremony and time, later, for sunset pictures. I love a spring wedding in St. Augustine.

One of the downfalls of a golf course wedding in St. Augustine, or anywhere, is the golf club is not originally a wedding venue. It is a golf course and their first priority will always be their club members and the golfers. Getting ready spaces are not always ideal. Club members share a space, a lot of the time, with the groomsmen in the locker room. You don’t have freedom to roam wherever you would like.
These are questions to ask. Where can you take pictures and when. Where are club members going to be during the entirety of your wedding day? Where are you getting ready?
This goes back up to my first tip, to hire a wedding planner. They know to ask these questions and to advocate for you on your wedding day.

If you’re planning a St. Augustine wedding, I would love to photograph your day at St. Johns Golf & Country Club (or any venue in Florida). You can reach out here for more information:

Megan sent the sweetest review after the wedding, it said:
“I can’t remember how I came across Mollie as she was in Houston at the time (and now she’s in Jax/St. Aug) but I couldn’t be happier finding her. She has a light, airy, natural style of photography. She delivered my sneak peek (with over 200 pictures!) 4 days after my wedding. She is so easy to work with, sends guides along the way, and helps with timeline planning! If I had inspo pictures, she would pull them up and make them happen!”

If you’re planning a St. Augustine wedding and looking for a golf course venue that is both beautiful and easy for your guests, St. Johns Golf & Country Club is such an incredible option.
