I was so honored to be part of Kevin and Monica’s intimate Galveston elopement. The Adam’s League Historic Inn is such a perfect place for a sweet wedding ceremony and dinner. I am a big fan of small weddings! If I could go back, that is what I would do for my wedding. I love how Monica and Kevin surrounded themselves with the ones that they love the most and were able to go all out with beautiful details.
When you are planning your elopement, it’s all about the details! The flowers, the favors, your wedding invitation suite, and even your wedding monogram make such a huge difference. Monica chose a beautiful venue with the intimate and classy feel she wanted for her wedding and then gathered a small group of talented wedding vendors to make her dream come to life!
I think that is the key, gathering a team of professional wedding vendors. I will have the list at the end, but Monica’s team was so ideal!
Here are some of my favorite images from Monica and Kevin’s Galveston Elopement.
Galveston, Texas, with its charming Victorian architecture, breezy coastline, and rich historical charm, offers an unforgettable backdrop for an elopement. If you’re looking to celebrate your love in a sophisticated, intimate, and stress-free way, eloping in Galveston is a wonderful choice. Whether you’re drawn to the quaint allure of the island’s historic districts or the serenity of its pristine beaches, there’s no shortage of breathtaking locations for a truly memorable day.
The key to a stunning Galveston elopement is choosing the perfect venue. Here are a few top spots to consider:
Galveston Beachfront: The most iconic of all, the beach offers a serene and beautiful location for your ceremony. For a more private feel, choose a quieter stretch of sand and let the waves and sky create a stunning backdrop.
The Bishop’s Palace: For those craving a touch of grandeur, the Bishop’s Palace offers a historical and elegant setting. Its ornate architecture and rich history make it a perfect venue for couples seeking sophistication in an intimate setting.
The Strand Historic District: A beautiful blend of Victorian charm and modern luxury, this area provides several venues that reflect Galveston’s elegance, from quaint bed and breakfasts to upscale restaurants. Like Monica and Kevin’s historical Galveston elopements at The Adam’s League.
Moody Gardens: For a more unique vibe, consider Moody Gardens. The lush gardens and sweeping views offer an elegant atmosphere for an intimate ceremony, with the bonus of sophisticated indoor venues for any type of weather.
One of the main advantages of eloping is the ability to make your day as personal and unique as possible. Here are some ways to make your Galveston elopement truly yours:
Eloping doesn’t mean sacrificing a great wedding experience. As a photographer who specializes in high-end, sophisticated weddings, I believe every elopement deserves stunning, timeless photos that reflect your unique love story, and that is only multiplied when you include professional vendors that give you an experience to remember forever.
Hiring an experienced wedding vendors who know how to work with your specific elopement vision ensures that no detail goes overlooked.
When you contact me, I have a complete list of wonderful, local vendors in the Houston/Galveston area to provide an elopement experience that is unmatched!
While Galveston’s coastal weather is generally mild, it’s still essential to keep in mind the time of year and potential weather conditions. The summer months can be hot and humid, while the winter months bring cooler, more temperate weather. Spring and fall offer the perfect mix of pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
Galveston and Houston is the home for several major events that may complicate travel and housing:
Houston Rodeo – In the spring, Houston is the home of the largest rodeo in the country. Definitely something to keep in mind since guests must travel through Houston from most place to get to Galveston.
Mardi Gras – This event runs from the end of February through the first week in March. It is the third largest Mardi Gras celebration in the country! It is very colorful and fun downtown Galveston, but can definitely effect vendors, guests and any pictures that you would like in the downtown area.
There are many other festivities that take place in Galveston and you can find them HERE. Also, finding vendors, especially planners, that are familiar with the area, will know how to deal with the official and unofficial celebrations that take place here. For example, the Slab Weekend, that usually takes place in April.
Eloping in Galveston offers the perfect combination of sophistication and intimacy. With its stunning settings, personalized experiences, and laid-back charm, it’s the ideal destination for couples who want to exchange vows without all the fuss of a traditional wedding. Keep your elopement true to you, and make it a day you’ll cherish forever.
