Josh and Atra’s Houston Arboretum engagement session in June was a warm one. Summer engagement sessions in Houston are “weird”, one one hand it is green and absolutely gorgeous. But, on the other hand, you are going to melt. The heat is intense and this summer is not messing around. This is our 2nd summer in Texas and it is definitely warmer than the last one. Although it is hot and, not going to lie, uncomfortable, it is still more pleasant than shooting in the cold! I wouldn’t be sad if Mother Nature turned the temperature down 15 degrees though, 80-85 degrees is my happy spot. 90-100 that feels like 110 is a little extreme.
Josh and Atra met at church and that is where Josh proposed. But this was no ordinary proposal! Atra sent me the link to the video and I just about DIED! Josh proposed to Atra by rapping their story to the tune of a song from Hamilton! Ok, I haven’t seen Hamilton (I know, I’m weird), I haven’t really wanted to…UNTIL NOW! We have Disney Plus and I am going to watch it the second that I get a chance!
I love their sweet love story! They are just the cutest couple and I feel so blessed that I get to photograph their wedding at Hidden Pines, a brand new Houston-area venue! That is always so exciting! But first, check out their HOT engagement session at the Houston Arboretum, but these two look cool as a cucumber!
