Kristine’s Bridal Session at Brazos Bend State Park was a happy little accident. We were supposed to do her session at her wedding day Airbnb and the venue. At the last minute, the Airbnb was booked and so we had to find a different location.
When we found out that we couldn’t use the Airbnb, I suggested Brazos Bend State Park. I hadn’t been able to shoot there and I was dying to! It was going to be such a gorgeous day. The light was going to be perfect and I just knew that Kristine would be the most beautiful bride surrounded by the oak trees and Spanish moss.
Kristine and her mama were such troopers! I know outdoor bridal sessions can be stressful, but they are SO worth it! Absolutely nothing beats that warm golden hour light, it is completely magical, in my opinion.
I am a sucker for Spanish Moss. My mom is from Florida and so I would always see it when we would go visit. Spanish moss doesn’t grow in California. Since it wasn’t where I live, it was a novelty to me for my whole life. When we were in Florida, I would go on walks just to see the Spanish Moss. And then when I started with photography, I would take pictures of it on my walks. I was so excited to see it growing in Houston and I get so happy when I can use it in sessions. The way that the light shines through it is really beautiful!
I can’t wait to come back to Brazos Bend for many more sessions! I hope to explore it more and maybe even see some alligators (not DURING a session, of course).
