The Majestic Metro is such a fun and unique wedding venue in Houston! It is an old theater that opened in 1926 and then was turned into a wedding and events venue. It was so perfect for what Andrew and Rachel wanted for their wedding day!

Majestic Metro Wedding

All week there was a 90%-100% chance of rain on Andrew and Rachel’s wedding day. If there is one thing that I have learned in my time here in Texas, anything below 40%-50% chance, most likely it’s not going to rain (or just for a second), and anything above 50%-60% it may rain really hard or it may not. But 90%-100%, we are definitely going to see rain. As a photographer, I obsess over the forecast, especially on wedding days. We can’t postpone a wedding for bad weather, we go with the hand we are dealt.

For Savana and Francisco‘s wedding, in October, I bought a bunch of clear umbrellas. We ended up not needing them, so I was hoping, on Andrew and Rachel’s wedding at St. Joseph Catholic Church and at the Majestic Metro, we would have the same luck. If I brought the umbrellas we won’t need them.

Guess what?! It rained…BUT we got every single picture that we needed! It never rained more than sprinkling until we had just finished wedding pictures at the Sabine Bridge in Downtown Houston! It helped a ton that Andrew and Rachel were troopers and, even when it was raining a little bit, they were up for pictures!

My favorite part of the day was the traditional New Orleans wedding second line at the end of their reception. I really think this is my favorite reception “grand exit” ever. Sparklers and streamers are fun, but a second line is the most fun! Friends, IT WAS RAINING. At this point in the day, not even sprinkling, completely raining. Did Andrew and Rachel care? No way! This was such a celebration! Everyone should do this! It was the best!
