A Hotel Galvez Wedding, there is not much that is more romantic than that! I was a history major in college and so a wedding at a historic hotel, like the Hotel Galvez was a dream! This hotel, right on the Strand in Galveston, opened in 1911! It is so grand! I love every second of this day!

One thing that I loved about David and Bernadette’s big wedding was how true they stayed to the class of this amazing venue. I was a teenager in the 90’s, that is going to date me, but, the movie, Titanic, was a huge part of my life. And the Hotel Galvez feels like it stepped right out of that movie like I was going to see Jack and Rose walk down the main staircase. No joke, if you haven’t been there, you need to go. The whole style of David and Bernadette’s wedding fit so perfectly here. It was so classy!

Did I mention they had an amazing classic car pull-up in front of the hotel for pictures? Yes, they did! I love that they thought of the perfect photo ops for their wedding! They went all out, all of the details! As a photographer, I am all about this! I love all of the details!

Second Shooting

I was able to be the second photographer at this wedding for the amazing Christina Elliott Photography! Being the second shooter at a wedding is one of my favorite things to do! I try to keep time in my schedule to help with as many weddings as I can, especially when I can work with my talented friends like Christina! It is a time when I can be creative and learn from another photographer. Yes, I have photographed hundreds of weddings! But, friends, no matter how long we have been working at our craft, there are ALWAYS things to learn and improve. And, being new to the Houston area, I love shooting at as many of these gorgeous Texas venues that I can! It is such a thrill!

First looks aren’t only for the bride and groom. I loved these first looks with Bernadette’s best friends and her daughter. They melted my heart!

And then David’s First Look with his soon-to-be daughter was just the sweetest thing that I ever saw. So much love in this family! Such a lucky little girl!
